Fuck you forever.

—Bob to Frank

Hello, my dear friends. It lifted in my spirits to see you all smiling as I drove off.

—Bob greets them to all of Mohican Airways

Robert Deemwitt "Bob Pogo" Pogrohovich is a major character of F is for Family. He is Frank's initially obese and ill-tempered boss at Mohican Airlines. He is initially an antagonist, frequently mistreating his employees. However, after Scoop Dunbarton usurps Bob's former position, he begins to slowly soften towards his employees. Emphasis on "slowly". And while he does eventually become a trusted ally to his employees, he still frequently displays opportunistic behavior and will occasionally become an antagonist again if it suits his interests.

Personality[]

Bob Pogo is a very rude and angry person and a major glutton. Upon surviving his heart attack however, he mellows out massively, but can still be mean. Bob Pogo often refers to people in an unkind and dismissive manor like calling the baggage handlers donkeys.

Although he may not be bad or evil, Bob Pogo is a pretty terrible person.

Peculiarly, he enjoys fried chicken, but specifically comments on how the skin is the best part. This obsession lead to him making a restaurant dedicated entirely to selling fried chicken skins.

Health Issues[]

It was revealed through a flashback that Bob was quite physically fit during his military service, despite still being a very heavy eater. A juxtaposition he blames on his high metabolism. After his service had ended, his lifestyle became more sedentary and as such, his metabolism slowly caught up with his gluttony and he rapidly gained weight, becoming morbidly obese a good well before the start of the series. This weight, combined with his development of a chronic smoking habit, contributed to a reported five, and eventually six heart attacks.

By the start of the series, he was so fat that he essentially required a mobility scooter to get around the airport. The first time he stood up, he almost immediately got light-headed and had to sit back down. He lost a small amount of weight after being trapped in his car for nearly 17 hours. Though it wasn't enough to alter his appearance, he seemed significantly more capable of walking than before.

Eventually, during a period where Bill Murphy had gotten himself stuck in a storm drain, Bob volunteered to throw the life preserver using an old sports technique he supposedly knew. However the physical activity caused him to suffer the aforementioned sixth heart attack. He was resuscitated by Chauncey "Rosie" Roosevelt, much to the latter's chagrin.

He was taken to a hospital and presumably put through traction for several months. Upon returning, he had lost almost all of his weight, however due to the medical setting and the relatively short term in which his weight loss took place, it resulted in him appearing extremely gaunt and flabby, with an extraordinary amount of sagging, flabby skin. He appeared paler and very physically weak, arguably even less healthy than he was before.

Though he did seem to make honest efforts to maintain his lessened weight, his gluttony eventually got the better of him and he began to gradually eat more and more food, which caused him to regain most of his lost weight by the end of the series.

Lastly, during an encounter with Louis Gagliardi, Bob was shot point-blank in the abdomen, with the bullet piercing his spinal chord, and paralyzing him from the hips down, leaving him wheelchair-bound for the remainder of the series.
